What's New at Lift Me Up! We are pleased and proud to share the great news - our new hydraulic lift is fully operational and in regular use. The lift has made mounting for riders with more limited mobility a much easier job for everyone involved, including the horses! Our special thanks goes out to the Whitney family of Great falls whose generous $5000 donation, not to mention continued hours of volunteer time, went a long way towards making the lift a reality. All our horses are trained with the new lift and our riders have over some their initial trepidation.
The lift was a bright spot after a difficult summer marked by drought, searing heat, horse ailments and the sad loss of one of our favorite mounts, our beloved Junior Mint. The heat advisories forced some lessons to be canceled, but they did result in the addition of a water cooler for our staff. Because of the cancellations, our waiting list of riders has grown again. Here's to a continued mild winter! Our equipment inventory has been blessed with several great additions including a new vaulting surcingle. This will be especially useful for riders that need to be closer to the horse. It has handles to help with rider stability, and allows for the rider to change positions on the horse much more easily. Special thanks go out to Leslie Lewis, Steve Alcuri for their donation and to Michelle Murray who donated a new helmet. Word Search
