Visit Our Farm
A dream came true for Lift Me Up! in 2006, its thirty-first year of operations. On Valentine’s Day, Lift Me Up! completed the purchase of the property and the indoor arena located at 9704 Georgetown Pike. Acquisition of a permanent home with an indoor riding facility had long been a goal for Lift Me Up! As a result of this transaction, we will be able to offer year-round therapeutic riding instruction in all types of weather, and expand our program offerings to include the many prospective riders who remain on our program's waiting list. In finding a permanent home, Lift Me Up! will also be able to serve as a site for ongoing research and training in the field of therapeutic riding. We have already hosted a hippotherapy seminar for therapists and therapeutic riding professionals with prominent Occupational Therapist Claudia Morin on Level 1 Equine Skills and Treatment Principles.

Lift Me Up! wishes to extend its most sincere thanks to Flo and Harry Dougherty, who served as our hosts for over 20 years. Their multifaceted and continuous support has been pivotal to the program’s continued viability, vibrancy, and growth. We look forward to working with the Doughertys in the future, now as their neighbors!
Many thanks also go to you, our community of riders, families, volunteers, staff, and supporters. We look forward to welcoming you all to our new facility, and to working together to build an even more vibrant therapeutic riding community.
For the safety of all participants, please adhere to posted guidelines and barn rules and regulations regarding all of the horses on the property, particularly with respect to areas and activities that are off-limits to program participants (including stalls and turnout areas). We ask that you refrain from feeding, touching, or otherwise interacting with any of the horses on the property except with appropriate supervision and permission.
