Lift Me Up! 2007 Ride-a-thon - May 2007
On a warm, sunny Saturday in May, the Lift Me Up Ride-A-Thon was held at Rolling Meadows Farm in Purcellville. It was a beautiful day to ride over the meadows hills and streams with a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. Riders and horses, alike enjoyed the day. The event, which was held to raise funds for dust-free footing in our indoor arena was a great success and will go a long way toward allowing our riders with breathing issues to ride all year long. IN ITS THIRTIETH YEAR, LMU FINDS A PERMANENT HOME
A dream came true for Lift Me Up! in this, its thirtieth year of operations. On Valentine’s Day, Lift Me Up! completed the purchase of the property and the indoor arena located at 9704 Georgetown Pike, adjacent to our current location. Acquisition of a permanent home with an indoor riding facility has long been a goal for LMU. As a result of this transaction, LMU will be able to offer year-round therapeutic riding instruction in all types of weather, and to expand our program offerings to include the many remaining on our program's waiting list. In addition, LMU will be able to serve as a site for ongoing research and training in the field of therapeutic riding; we’ve already scheduled a hippotherapy seminar for therapeutic riding professionals with prominent Occupational Therapist Claudia Morin on Level 1 Equine and Treatment Principles. The 16th Annual Ride-A-Thon
Each year LMU! holds a Ride-a-thon.   A fantastic fun event for riders to bring their horses to trail that woldn't normally be available or for walkers to experience the beauty of Great Falls and the Potomac River.

This year's Ride-a-thon took place on June 1st at Southdown Farm on a damp, blustery day. Howver, the weather did not prevent the event from being successful and well-attended. It was one of our most successful ever and also had the most walkers.

We want to thank our coporate sponsors.  Their support helps keep our program running and our horses happy. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Newcomers Club of Great Falls, the SABA Group and Classic Designs Remodeling & Additions for their very generous support.

Also, we would like to recognize Porfessional Health Services and the Terr family on behaf of Maderia School for their sponsorships.

And we want to offer a great Thank You! to all of our sponsors for 2003. You are all greatly appreciated.
